Education Week: States Continue Push to Toughen Teacher Policies

Education Week: States Continue Push to Toughen Teacher Policies.

So it is not just MI, but what appears to be a nationwide overhaul of teacher tenure laws.  To me it also looks like happening at the end of a well orchestrated campaign.  It is perhaps no coincidence that these measures by more than a dozen states were preceded by an explosion of education documentaries in 2010 such as Waiting for Superman, Race to Nowhere, Teached, The Cartel, and The Lotterya hype in print media, and an anti-tenure tsunami on the Internet.  All of this seems part of a robust campaign in the run up to recent changes in tenure laws.
